Stand up to Autoimmune Diseases
The GO-Immun development project combines two innovative technologies for the treatment of Graves’ disease and other autoimmune disorders.
An innovative method for generating antibody germinal centers in cell culture, which can be used to test new drugs without animal testing—that is the focus of the GO-Immun development project. Germinal centers are small structures in immune organs such as lymph nodes and the spleen, where antibody-producing cells mature. Until now, they have only functioned in intact organs. As part of the GO-Immun project, ISAR Bioscience, in collaboration with Professor George Kahaly’s team at the University Medical Center Mainz, aims to create such germinal centers in the laboratory in order to test novel drugs on them without animal testing.
Another goal of GO-Immun is the production of so-called Tolero-LNPs. These are RNAs encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). They are key components of a novel therapeutic approach developed by ISAR Bioscience. The aim is to induce immune tolerance that puts an end to various types of autoimmune diseases.
