Scientist/Post-doc – Immunology (gn)

ISAR Bioscience GmbH is a translational research company in Planegg near Munich, supported by the Free State of Bavaria.

Our research focuses on (auto-)immune diseases, degenerative diseases of the brain (Alzheimer’s) and heart diseases (infarction, cardiac failure). We use human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) technologies to develop disease models for the discovery of novel drugs and cell therapies. In doing so, we enter into strategic partnerships with research institutions and industrial companies.

We are looking for Scientists/Post-doc to join our team (full-time position). Suitable candidates will join a vibrant and growing Start-up company, which is developing the next generation of disease models by differentiating human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSC) into relevant cells of interest.

Responsibilities

  • Contribution to research and development of novel therapies for (auto-)immune diseases (including (long-term)culture of macrophages, T and B lymphocytes, NK cells, dendritic cells)
  • Establish and maintain cell lines, partially under quality-controlled conditions
  • Isolate peripheral blood monocytes (PBMCs), preparation of lymphocytes
  • T- and B lymphocyte assays, including peptide stimulation, cytokine release and FACS
  • Establish and develop cell based assays and differentiation protocols
  • Differentiate human induced pluripotent cells (hiPSC) for research purposes, and to generate master cell banks under GMP conditions
  • Manipulate human immune cells by various nucleic acid delivery techniques
  • Critically analyze and interpret data and define realistic timelines for studies
  • Work closely with and communicate results to internal teams as well as to external partners

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular Biology or related field
  • Profound expertise in immunological methods, such as FACS, ELISA etc. as well as in mammalian cell culture techniques and cell manipulation (transduction/ transfection) is essential
  • Sound knowledge and track-record with focus on human T and NK cell biology is a plus
  • Good command of English (both written and spoken); Knowledge of German is an advantage

Our offer

We offer the special opportunity to help shape the development of a new research company in an interdisciplinary team with pioneering spirit. You will be given exciting tasks and personal development. The salary will depend on qualifications and professional experience and is calculated in accordance with the civil service salary scales. The position is initially temporary, but there is the possibility of an extension.
